  INMASS/MRP Software for Manufacturing

MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS PLANNING

Material Requirements Planning is the key module for controlling all aspects of material and rough-cut management. It supports Just-In-Time material flow. A Master Schedule is maintained where firm and planned orders, sales forecasts, and production plans can be entered into the schedule. The Master Schedule is updated from other modules so that there is tight control of inventory balances, purchase orders, and production. Orders are scheduled in need-date priority and it projects when inventory will be depleted and time-phases the reordering. The Full Pegging feature lets you quickly "peg" components back to their sales order number.

One of its most powerful features is the availability of an impressive array of Exception Reports. When used in conjunction with INMASS/MRP's multi-company capability, it provides a powerful tool for simulation. Material Requirements Planning integrates with Inventory Control, Bill of Materials, Order Entry, Job Cost/Work-In-Process, and Purchasing. Custom Reports can be generated by the INQUIRE Report Writer.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • A Regenerative Material Requirements Planning system. The Material Requirements Planning report is created as a batch process after all master Schedule transactions have been entered.
  • Optional bucketing: Up to 100 variable length buckets can be defined. This allows the user to view requirements in a variety of formats. For example, the user may look at the next three months in weekly increments, the following nine months in months, and the next year in quarters.
  • Vertical and/or horizontal Bucket Reports.
  • Multi-company capability allows the user to port company information to a "dummy" port company for simulation or quotation purposes.
  • ASCII upload capability lets the user develop a consolidated Master Schedule from multiple companies or to transfer sales forecasts from outside software.
  • Full Pegging helps production and management quickly "peg" all level components back to their sales order.
  • Multiple selection criteria for printing reports.
  • Non-Nettable inventory from "Hold" areas excluded from Material Requirements Planning logic.
  • Eight different reporting options for Exception reporting.
  • Engineering effectivity dates in the Bills of Material allow Material Requirements Planning to plan a smooth transition between new and obsolete parts.
  • Labor and Process items can be time-phased and scheduled by Material Requirements Planning. Combined with materials information, can be used to create rough-cut capacity plans.
  • Flexible 1000-day Shop Calendar.
  • Interaction with other INMASS/MRP programs. The Material Requirements Planning program automatically can be updated by the INMASS/MRP Sales Order Entry, Job Cost/Work-In-Process, and Purchasing programs.
  • All files can be converted to ASCII for use by Lotus, dBase, and other outside software.
  • Scrap and Shrinkage calculations are supported.
